Embroidered Wall Hanging
Made this for 3rd Annual Vanna’s Choice Yarn Contest 2011. Wanted to do something different than usual knitting and crochet. Looking at the canvas that I had from many days, I thought of doing embroidery . It is bit difficult to work on canvas with wool and needle. It took me more time than I thought and also my fingers started hurting by pushing and pulling the big needle through the canvas. But it was worth the try. I got selected for the 1st round.
Though I did not win anything in the final round, still whenever I look at the wall hanging I feel so happy that I made this :)
Materials used :
Vanna's choice yarn scarlet(113) , Colonial Blue(109), Black(153) and Mustard (158)
20"x 16" Canvas board,
Round Mirrors(1",0.75" and 0.5")
Needle
I used Satin stitch, Fly stitch, Shisha (Mirror) stitch and Kutch embroidery on this wall hanging. It took me approximately 35 hours to complete it. I used only 1/4 of the yarn from each yarn roll for this project.
